Thailand Vacation FAQs

Quick answers to the questions travelers ask us most.

Still have a question?

A real person will get back to you.

  • Is Thailand good for first-time international travelers?

Yes. Thailand is one of Asia’s most visited countries, with frequent domestic flights and ferries, a wide range of hotels, and English widely spoken in the main tourist areas. The key to a relaxed first trip is a route that doesn’t try to cover too much.

  • What is the best time to visit Thailand?

For most of Thailand, the cool, dry season from November to February is the most comfortable. March to May is hot, and June to October is the rainy “green season.” The Gulf islands — Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao — follow a different pattern, with their heaviest rain from October to December.

  • How many days should I spend in Thailand?

Around 10 to 14 days lets you combine Bangkok, the north and the beaches without rushing. With about a week, focus on two places — for example Bangkok plus Phuket or Krabi. Our trip ideas range from 3 to 14 days.

  • Which is better: Phuket, Krabi or Koh Samui?

It depends on how you like to travel. Phuket has the widest choice of beaches, hotels and nightlife. Krabi is known for dramatic limestone scenery and a slower pace. Koh Samui has a laid-back island feel on the Gulf side, with its best weather at a different time of year from Phuket and Krabi.

  • Can you customize Thailand vacation packages?

Yes. Every trip idea and package can be adjusted to your dates, group size, hotels, activities and budget. Tell us what you have in mind and we’ll put together recommendations — planning is free and there’s no obligation to book.

Yes. We plan trips for friends, extended families and larger groups, including villas, private transfers and shared activities. Share your group size when you plan and we’ll tailor the options.

  • Do I need a visa for Thailand?

It depends on your passport. Many nationalities can visit Thailand visa-free for tourism, but the permitted length of stay varies and entry rules change from time to time. Always check the latest requirements with a Royal Thai Embassy or the official Thai e-Visa website before you travel.
